Editorial Policy
Our Standards for Accuracy, Independence, and Calendar Research
1. Editorial Independence & Disclaimer
KalnirnayOnline.com is an independent digital calendar reference portal. This website is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Sumangal Press or the printed Kalnirnay publication. All trademarks and brand names belong to their respective owners and are referenced strictly for descriptive and informational purposes.
2. Calendar Dataset & Sources
The dates, festival names, and observances presented on this website are drawn directly from our structured dataset in data/calendar-events-2026.json. The repository contains dates, English event names, Marathi event names, and review status flags for 2026 observances.
Our default reference location for calendar entries is Pune, Maharashtra, India (18.5204° N, 73.8567° E).
3. Status Definitions in Our Dataset
Events recorded in our calendar dataset are categorized according to three status definitions:
- Verified: Listed date has been cross-referenced against fixed calendar dates or known civil observances.
- Requires Review: Conflicting dates exist across regional traditions; verification is pending.
- Unverified: Tentative observance date derived from preliminary calendar listings awaiting confirmation.
4. Panchang Limitations
This website does not currently calculate daily Panchang values (such as daily tithi, nakshatra, yoga, or karana). Astronomical and religious timings vary significantly by geographic location, latitude, longitude, and local sunrise.
Users planning religious ceremonies, rituals, or muhurats should consult an authorized local priest or a verified local almanac for location-specific timings.
5. Corrections & Contact
If you notice any inaccuracies or conflicting dates in our calendar dataset, please review our Corrections Policy and contact us directly by email at contact@kalnirnayonline.com.
